S and B EPS fill 70 material obtains an A+ rating in the BRE green guide and has an ODP of 0 and GWP potential of less than 5.

S and B are proud to be associated with Balfour Beatty and the Olympic Site supplying CE marked civil engineering products to BSEN14933.

The Client Brief

S and B EPS Fill 70 grade material was selected as the preferred option during the construction of the Olympic Aquatic centre.

S and B EPS liaised with Balfour Beatty to coordinate deliveries of up to 800 cu-m of material per day delivered in accordance with designated booking slots.

The Lightweight, energy efficient EPS blocks with a safe working load capacity of 7 tonnes per square metre were laid around the Aquatic centre allowing the required depth of fill to be obtained without the need for multiple pours and extended drying times.

Being involved in such a prestigious project and to be a chosen EPS supplier was a great honour for S and B EPS limited

The Challenge

To supply over 650 cu-m of EPS 150 within a short time scale specified, working in close contact with the contractors ready for steel reinforcement and concrete pouring.

High cross break and compressions specifications were needed for the new Coronation Street Studios.

The Client Brief

The specification needed was S and B EPS 150 flooring grade to BS13163 EN standard, compression values of 150 Kpa were manufactured to obtain these values.

Specialised Vehicles were used for the ease of delivery with Eps supplied.

The series that has been going on for over 52 years is now being built on the foundations using Eps that also has the same life length and more , taken the program into 2050.

Supplying the insulation for the New Coronation Street Studios ground work, was a pleasure to work on and be involved with such an iconic soap opera.
