S and B EPS Ltd offer a waste collection scheme allowing uncontaminated EPS materials, supplied by ourselves, to be collected from sites and recycled back into our EPS products.
Our commitment to energy saving allows external wall system providers using our material to offer this service, allowing applicators to return unused off cuts back to our plant where the material is reground back into its original eps moulded form to be used once again for insulation, this saves on landfill and skip hire costs along with helping to reduce the carbon footprint.
We have recycled over 750 m³ of Lambdatherm® on our pilot program throughout 2012, supplying documentation to all parties showing the actual volumes of material recycled running alongside our EN ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
The disposal of waste material from construction sites is becoming a major problem in the UK, S and B EPS Ltd are taking action to help the government meet targets to reduce the amount of this type of material going to landfill.
Eps is 100 percent recyclable and obtains an A+ rating in the Green guide as well as achieving a BREEAM credit.
Lambdatherm® is an enhanced grey coloured EPS material registered to S and B EPS Ltd on which the pilot scheme was trialled.
It has been great to see this project grow, and to be such a success while helping our suppliers and the environment.
